The Colombia 1,000 Pesos Banknote was issued by the Republic of Colombia in 2015. It has a color combination of orange and brown. Its obverse side contains a square symbol for the blind, a portrait of Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Ayala, the politician whose death set off the La Violencia, in the foreground, and the crowd gathered to hear Jorge Gaitan’s speech in front of the Nutibara Hotel in Medellin at the background. The reverse side of the note depicts Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Ayala’s presidential candidacy announcement in Bogota. The note has a scales registration device, a Braille script on the watermark area, a solid security thread with demetalized BR COLOMBIA, and a watermark of Jorge Gaitan. It is 130 mm by 65 mm. It also bear the signatures of Jose Dario Uribe Escobar and Jose Tolosa Buitrago. The note is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
