Reviews:

The Colombia 10,000 Pesos Banknote was issued by the Bank of the Republic in 1994 to commemorate the quincentennial of Christopher Columbus’ navigation. It comes in a combination of green, brown, red, and yellow. Its obverse features a plant, two sailing ships, a plate, a gold figure, and a portrait of an Embera Indian woman (Mujer Embera). It also bears the text “SERIE CONMEMORATIVA DEL 12 DE OCTUBRE DE 1492. The reverse of the paper bill depicts a greater flamingo, an Andean condor, a green honeycreeper, an Andean cock of the rock, a blue and yellow macaw, a hoatzin, a scarlet ibis, a yellow-hooded blackbird, a metallic green tanager, a white pelican, a magnificent frigatebird, a keel-billed toucan, a balimore oriole, a scarlet macaw, a yellow-crowned parrot, and a red-capped cardinal. Also on the reverse are the Martin Waldseemuller’s world map of 1507, the cornucopia bank seal, and Cristobal Colon’s Santa Maria sailing ship. The banknote contains one plain solid security thread and one with printed BRC 1000 solid security thread. It also bears a watermark that shows an Embera woman. The banknote is 140 x 70 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition. It has also been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
