The Comoros 5,000 Francs is part of the 2006 series issued by the Central Bank of Comoros with reduced size, making the banknote handier. The obverse of the note displays a portrait of President Said Mohamed Cheikh in the center and in the background is the Karthala volcano crater on Grande Comore. The obverse also shows a poem on its bottom left. The back of the banknote boasts a baobab tree on a shore. A nautilus shell is also visible in underprint and a poem by Mbaye Trambwe is on the left. The banknote is 138 x 73 mm in size and comes in purple. Its security features include a holographic stripe, a solid security thread with printed BCC, and a watermark that reflects a crescent moon with BCC and electrotype stars. This particular Comoros 5,000 Franc banknote has been given a grade of 67 by the Professional Coin Grading Service.
