The Comoros 5,000 Franc banknote is part of the Central Bank of Comoros 2006 issues. The purple banknote features the Karthala volcano crater on Grande Comore and a portrait of President Said Mohamed Cheikh on its obverse side. The reverse of the banknote depicts a baobab tree, a shore, a nautilus, and an excerpt of a poem by Mbaye Trambwe. The banknote is 138 x 73 mm in size and bears a holographic stripe, a solid security thread with printed BCC, and a watermark that reflects a crescent moon with BCC and electrotype stars. This Comoros 5,000 Franc banknote has been given a grade of 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
