The Comoros 500 Francs issued in 2006 by the Central Bank of Comoros with a pick number P-15a. The banknote is smaller than the previous issues, making it more convenient to carry. The banknotes obverse bears a mongoose lemur on the center. It also features a poem and the salt lake crater found on Grande Comore. The reverse of the note displays orchid flowers and a poem which was written by Comorian poet Mbaye Trambwe. The banknote is 120 x 66 mm in size and is in purple, blue, and green color combinations. It has a solid security thread with printed BCC and a watermark that shows a crescent moon with BCC and electrotype stars when peered with a light source. This particular banknote has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
