The Democratic Republic of Congo 500 Franc banknote dated 2002 -2004 with a pick number P-96s was released by the Central Bank of Congo. The banknotes front side features the bank monogram logo on the center and three diamonds on the right. On the left is a diamond design overlaid with two men with a pan and a man with a pick ax, looking for diamonds. The reverse of the banknote depicts diamond mining in a small valley dotted with trees and a river with a building. The banknotes security features include a solid security thread with a demetalized REP DEM DU CONGO, a registration device in the form of a diamond with a 5-pointed star, and a watermark showing an okapis head when peered with a light source. This particular specimen banknote of the Democratic Republic of Congo 500 Francs has been given a grade of 67 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
