The Congo Democratic Republic 500 Franc Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Congo in 2002. The obverse of the note depicts a man with a pickaxe and two men with pans searching for diamonds in a stream. It also features the bank monogram and three diamonds lined up vertically. The back of the paper bill features diamond mining in a narrow valley with trees and buildings. The banknote bears a solid security thread with a demetallized REP DEM DU CONGO and a watermark that reflects an okapi’s head. The banknote is 150 x 70 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition. It has also been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
