The Congo Democratic Republic 500 Francs Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Congo in 2002. Its obverse features the bank monogram. It also displays three diamonds, and a diamond with a man with a pick ax and two men with pans searching for diamonds in a stream. The reverse displays a diamond mining in a narrow valley, trees, a river, and a building. The note is 150 x 70 mm in size and bears a solid security thread with a demetalized REP DEM DU CONGO. It also has an okapi head as its watermark and a registration device that consists of a star with 5 tips positioned in the center of a diamond. This particular specimen banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
