This Costa Rica 1,000 Colones Banknote was released in 2005 with a dimension of 156 x 67 mm. Its obverse side contains Spanish text and a portrait of Tomas Soley Guell, a Costa Rican economist. Its reverse side depicts the Instituto Nacional de Seguros building in San Jose. The security features of the note include a windowed security thread with demetalized 1000 BCCR and a watermark image of Tomas Soley Guell.
