The Costa Rica 5,000 Colones Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Costa Rica between 1991 and 1995. The specimen banknote has a color combination of blue, green, orange, and purple. The obverse depicts an aboriginal gold figure of a shaman with a crocodile mask. The reverse depicts rainforest fauna and flora, including ferns, a toucan, a stone sphere, a jaguar, bromeliads, and an anthropomorphic warrior figure. The banknote contains a solid security thread with printed BCCR 5000 and a watermark that reveals a toucan. The banknote is 156 x 67 mm in size. This particular specimen banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
