The Costa Rica 500 Colones Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Costa Rica in 1994. The specimen banknote has a color combination of red, brown, and purple. It has a diagonal red MUESTRA SIN VALOR overprint on both the front and back. Its obverse features Manuel Maria Gutierrez Flores who composed the music for the National Anthem of Costa Rica. On the back of the note is the National Theater building nestled in San Jose. The note bears a solid security thread with 500 COLONES and a watermark that reflects Manuel Maria Gutierrez Flores. The paper bill is 156 x 67 mm in size and was printed by Thomas De La Rue Limited. This particular specimen banknote is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated.
