This uncirculated 40 Djiboutian franc banknote commemorates the Emerald Jubilee (40th anniversary) of Djibouti’s Independence from France. It is a multicolored banknote that is dated 2017, bears the signature of Bank Governor Ahmed Osman Ali, and measures 152 mm long and 69 mm wide. Its obverse side features a whale shark swimming near a coral reef. Its reverse side depicts the Jubilee logo, an outline map of Djibouti, and a depiction of gantry cranes and container ships at a port. Though the banknote does not have a security thread, it has a watermark that shows the national coat of arms.
