Djibouti 40 Francs Banknote, 2017, P-46a.2, UNC, Commemorative

The Djibouti 40 Francs Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Djibouti in 2017 to commemorate the Emerald Jubilee of the country’s independence from France. The obverse of the blue banknote features a whale shark swimming among starfish, coral, seashells, and seahorse. The reverse of the paper bill displays the Jubilee logo, gantry cranes and container ships, a port, and the map of Djibouti. The note does not have a security thread. It bears a watermark that reveals the coat of arms. It is 152 x 69 mm in size and is in uncirculated condition.
