The Dominican Republic 50 Centavos Oro is part of the fractional banknotes issued in 1961 to address the economic instability that caused the people to hoard silver coins. This particular 2-piece uncut sheet of specimen banknotes is in used condition and in 1 x 2 arrangement. The obverse side of the banknote features the bank seal and the Palacio Nacional or the National Palace building in Santo Domingo. On its reverse are the coat of arms of the Dominican Republic and an in-profile portrait of the Taino tribe cacique Enriquillo wearing a Libertad band with feathers. With a horizontal overprint MUESTRA SIN VALOR, the Dominican Republic 50 Centavos Oro is 118 x 53 mm in size.
