The obverse side of the coins are engraved by Arnold Machin. The reverse side of the coins are engraved by Thomas Humphrey Paget. The coins with smaller denominations1 cent, 2 cents, and 5 centsare made of aluminum and feature the second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse side, and the face value of the coin surrounded by palm fronds on the reverse side. The coins with larger denominations10 cents, 25 cents, and 1 dollarare made of a copper-nickel alloy and feature the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse side and the Golden Hind, the ship of British explorer Sir Francis Drake, on the reverse side.
