The Ecuador 5,000 - 50,000 Sucres 4 Pieces Set features banknotes released in 1999, just before the sucre was replaced by the US dollar in 2000. This 4-piece set includes the 5,000-, 10,000-, 20,000- and 50,000-sucre denominations. The obverse sides feature famous Ecuadorian men: author Juan Montalvo and former Presidents Vicente Rocafuerte, Gabriel Garcia Moreno, and Eloy Alfaro. Meanwhile, the reverse sides depict symbolic images such as the Galapagos turtle, the Independence monument in Quito and the Ecuadorian coat of arms.
