This uncirculated 5,000 Ecuadorian sucre banknote is part of the 1999 AO series. It is dated 12 July 1999 and signed by Pablo Better Grunbaum, Ivan Ayala Reyes, and Jorge Guzman Oriega. It is a brown, orange, yellow, and blue note that measures 156 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side features the coat of arms of Ecuador and a portrait of writer Juan Montalvo. Its reverse side shows different wildlife in the Galapagos Islands: a flightless cormorant, a Galapagos penguin, and a Galapagos tortoise. Security features include a solid security thread and a watermark of Juan Montalvo.
