The Egypt 1 Pound banknote is part of the 2016 issues. It measures 140 x 70 mm. The obverse side shows the Sultan Qaitbay Mosque. The reverse side features Colossal statues of Ramses II seated at the main entrance to the Great Temple at Abu Simbel, near Asw?n, Egypt, and birds and other shapes taken from the structure built by Ramses II in front of the Luxor Temple of Amenophis II. This banknote uses a windowed motion security thread and contains a watermark with a Mask of King Tut-Ankh-Amon design.
