The Egypt 100 Pound banknote was released by the Central Bank of Egypt in 2016 with the prefix 279. This note comes in a combination of green, purple, orange, and brown. Its obverse features the Sultan Hassan mosque in Cairo while the reverse depicts the Great Sphinx of Giza and hieroglyphics of Kemet, the ancient name of Egypt. The paper bill bears a Motion windowed security thread. It also bears a 1.5 mm wide security thread with demetalized 100 Pounds printed in Arabic, a watermark that reveals the Sphinx and an electrotype 100, and a registration device in the form of the Eye of Horus. The note is 165 x 70 mm in size and is signed by Governor Tarek Hassan Amer. It is in uncirculated condition and has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
