This 20 Egyptian pound banknote has a similar design to its predecessor, but it has added security features. The obverse side highlights the Muhammad Ali Pasha Mosque (Alabaster Mosque) in Cairo. The reverse side presents an image of Rameses II riding a war chariot, stylized papyrus flowers, and bas relief carvings from the Chapel of Sesotris I at Karnak temple. The bas reliefs featured in the note depict the coronation of a pharaoh, an inauguration of a temple, and a pharaoh with an offering table. The note has Omron rings, the Eye of Horus registration device, and a variety of windowed security threads and watermarks. Earlier versions of the note had a 2-mm wide holographic windowed security thread, a 1.5-mm wide solid security thread with the Arabic 20 printed with demetalized ink, and a watermark of the Mask of King Tutankhamun. Later versions of the note (from 2006-2016) had a 3-mm wide windowed security thread with demetalized 20 and TWENTY POUNDS in Arabic, and watermarks of Princess Nofret and electrotyped 20. Its dimensions are 155 mm by 70 mm.
