This 5 Egyptian pound coin was issued in 1984 (AH 1404) to commemorate the 50th death anniversary of Mahmoud Mukhtar, an Egyptian sculptor who is one of the “Pioneers” of the Egyptian Art movement. It is a non-circulating commemorative coin that is in extremely fine condition. Its obverse side shows the denomination, state name, and dates in Arabic text divided by a circle. Its reverse side shows the bust of Mahmoud Mukhtar. The coin is made of silver, weighs 17.5 g, and has a diameter of 37 mm.
