The Egypt 50 Piastres Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Egypt in 2005. The banknote comes in green, purple, yellow, and orange. Its obverse depicts the Al Azhar Mosque in Cairo. The reverse displays Ramesses II in a war, stylized papyrus flowers, and a granite statue of Ramesses II holding a heka (crook) based from Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy. The reverse also features a prow of a reed boat and the name of Ramesses II in a cartouche. The paper bill bears the signature of Farouk Abd El Baky El Okda and a watermark that reveals the mask of King Tut-Ankh-Amon. It does not contain a security thread. It measures 135 x 70 mm. This particular paper bill has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
