The European Union - Austria 500 Euro issued in 2002 has a prefix N on its serial number and comes in an uncirculated condition. As part of the family of notes issued with a theme of Ages and Styles of Europe, the banknotes obverse side features an architectural design of the 20th century. It also carries the European Union flag. The reverse of this 160 x 82 mm paper bill is a map and a cable-stay bridge. A holographic patch, a solid security thread with a demetallized 500 EURO, and watermarks of a door image and electrotype 500 constitute the banknotes security features. Furthermore, it is signed by the European Central Bank president Willem Duisenberg.
