The Fiji 1 Dollar banknote from 1971 is part of the 1969 - 1971 Decimalized series. The replacement banknote has a 6-digit serial number and a fractional alphanumeric prefix that starts with Z/1. Its obverse side features the Coat of Arms of Fiji and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, painted by Italian artist Pietro Annigoni. The reverse side features a magnificent view of the Yanuca beach in Yasewa surrounded by trees and mountains. The banknote has a dimension of 159 x 76 mm and contains a solid security thread and a Fijian head watermark to enhance its security features. The note was signed by the chairman of the currency board, Wesley Barrett.
