Reviews:

The Fiji 2 Dollar Banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of Fiji in 2000 to commemorate Fiji as the first country in the world to see the new millennium and the last to see the sunset of the old millennium. This commemorative banknote has hints of green, blue, brown, and orange. Featured on its obverse is Ratu Sir Penaia Ganilau who served as the first president of Fiji. It also shows a kaka bird perched on a branch, a silver metallic ornament, the coat of arms of Fiji, and a horizontal blue COMMEMORATING THE YEAR 2000 WHERE THE MILLENNIUM BEGINS and y2k overprints. The reverse of the paper bill depicts a flower and the map of Fiji islands and 180 degrees meridian with the sun rising. Also on the reverse are a man wearing a turban, a young boy and girl, an infant, a man blowing a conch shell, a woman wearing a straw hat, a sea turtle, a sailing boat with palm trees in the background, and a domodomo (canoe masthead). The note contains a windowed security thread and a watermark that depicts a Fijian’s head. It also bears a registration device in the form of a domodomo. It is 156 x 67 mm in size. This particular note has been given a grade of 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty.
