The security features of the note include a 3-mm windowed security thread with demetalized RBF and domodomo. An image of a Fijian head, electrotype 20 and cornerstones are made visible if placed under a UV light or held up against the light. The obverse side features a Fiji petrel bird also known as kacau ni gau flying over waves, a coconut scraper called Foa, a domodomo registration device, a holographic patch and the coat of Arms of Fiji.
