This used 5 Fijian dollar banknote was introduced by the Central Bank of Fiji in 1980 and signed by David John Barnes and H. J. Tomkins. It has orange, brown, purple, and yellow colors and dimensions of 156 mm x 67 mm. Its front side portrays the Fijian arms in the center and the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on one side. There is also an underprint with shells, tools, and artifacts. Its reverse side features a cataraman, a group of men fishing with a circular net, and sailboats. Security features include a domodomo (canoe masthead) registration device, a solid security thread, and a Fijian head watermark.
