The Fiji 50 Dollar banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of Fiji in 2002. The specimen banknote bears a red SPECIMEN overprint on its obverse and reverse. Its obverse side features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, a flying Kacau bird, and flowers. On the reverse are soldiers with rifles at the flag-raising ceremony, a Cession Stone with a plaque on Ovalau, six seated men signing the deed of cession on the table in 1874, a domodomo, and flowers. The banknote contains a Fijian’s head watermark, and a windowed security thread with demetalized RBF and domodomo. It also has a domodomo registration device and the signature of Savenaca Narube. The banknote is 156 x 67 mm in size. It is in uncirculated condition and is TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
