The Fiji 50 Dollar banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of Fiji in 2007. The specimen banknote bears a red SPECIMEN overprint on both its front and back. Its obverse features Queen Elizabeth II, a whale’s tooth necklace called Wasekaseka, a holographic turtle, and the Coat of Arms of Fiji. The backside of the note features a ceremonial tradition of the Yaqona and Tabua. Nine men can be seen doing the ceremony in a mat called the Fijian Masi. It also shows a palm tree, a bure hat, and a mountain in the background. The note is 151 x 67 mm in size and contains a holographic stripe and a 3-mm windowed security thread with demetalized RBF and domodomo. It also has a domodomo registration device and a watermark that reveals a Fijian head, an electrotype 50, and cornerstones. This 50 Dollar Fiji banknote has been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70 and is in uncirculated condition.
