This uncirculated specimen of the 50 Fijian dollar note commemorates the 50th year of Fijian Independence in 2020. It is printed on a polymer substrate and has dimensions of 151 mm by 67 mm. Its obverse side portrays the historic first Fijian flag raising ceremony at Albeit Park in Suva on the 10th of October 1970, the moment when Fiji was declared as an independent nation, and the face of the Clock Tower in the 10:00 position, the time the first flag ceremony took place. Its reverse side shows Fiji’s future leaders, the children of Fiji, joyously waving the flag together and a circle with the inner workings of a clock. Because this note is polymer, it does not have a watermark or a security thread. However, it has two vertical lines of raised dots and a registration device that shows the colored Fijian arms and the clock tower.
