The Fiji 7 Dollars Banknote was issued by the Reserve Bank of Fiji in 2017 to commemorate the gold medal win of the Fiji Rugby 7s team during the 2016 Summer Olympics. The obverse of the blue banknote is in a vertical orientation and features Fijian Rugby team captain Osea Kolinisau running with a ball, Olympic coach Ben Ryan sitting on Sigatoka Sand Dunes, the national emblem, a gold medal and RBF logo in OVI, and the Fijian flag. The reverse side features the bank logo, a domodomo, and the Fijian Rugby 7s Gold Olympians and their team officials with Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama. The note contains a 2-mm wide STARsheen windowed security thread with demetalized FIJI 7s GOLD OLYMPIANS and a watermark that reveals Rugby player Savenaca Rawaca running with a ball and electrotype 7. It is 140 x 67 mm in size. This commemorative specimen banknote bears a SPECIMEN perforation and is in uncirculated condition. Additionally, it has been TAP authenticated.
