This France 500 Franc banknote was issued in 1994 with a dimension of 80 153 mm. The obverse side of the note features a portrait of Polish-French physicist Marie Curie along with his husband French physicist Pierre Curie. The obverse side of the note focuses on Curies' greatest discovery of radium and radioactivity. It also features the mobile S-ray units called Les Petite Curie that were used during the war of 1914-1918. The reverse side of the note is an illustration of laboratory equipment inside the chemistry laboratory of the Measurement services at the Radium Institute. The security features of the note include a solid security thread and a watermark image of Marie Curie.
