The Georgian 100,000 Kuponi banknote from the 1994 series was designed by Nodar and Bachana Malazonia. Its obverse side bears a carving of a griffin from the Samtavisi Cathedral flanking Borjgali, the symbol of the sun and tree of life, and a vertical gray stripe at the right edge of the watermark area. On the reverse is a well-crafted carving of a grapevine from the Samtavisi Cathedral. The note is 115 x 55 mm in size and does not contain any security threads however when placed under a UV light, a watermark parallelogram pattern is visible.
