The Georgian 250,000 Kuponi banknote from the 1994 coupon series was designed by Nodar and Bachana Malazoni. It measures 115 x 55 mm and bears a carving of a griffin from Samtavisi Cathedral flanking Borjgali, the symbol of the sun and tree of life, and a vertical gray stripe at the right edge of the watermark area on the front design. The reverse side features a detailed carving of a grapevine. The note does not contain any security threads however when placed under a UV light, a watermark parallelogram pattern is visible.
