The Georgia 250 Kuponi banknote from the 1993 series was designed by Nodar and Bachana Malazonia. Its 115 x 55 mm in size and contains a solid security thread and a rhombus pattern watermark to enhance its security features. The banknote's front design features a carving of a griffin from the Samtavisi Cathedral flanking Borjgali, also known as the symbol of the sun and tree of life. At the back is a grapevine carving from the 11th-century Samtavisi Cathedral.
