The 500,000 Kuponi Georgian banknote that was issued in 1994 has a dimension of 115 x 55 mm. Its front and back design depicts exquisite carvings found in the 11th-century Samtavisi Cathedral. Printed on its obverse side is a carving of a griffin flanking Borjgali, the symbol of the sun and tree of life, and a vertical gray stripe at the right edge of the watermark area. On the reverse is a delicate carving of a grapevine. The note does not contain any security threads however a watermark parallelogram pattern is added to enhance the banknote's security features.
