This uncirculated 5 mark note from the German Democratic Republic was introduced by the State Bank of the German Democratic Republic in 1987. Its obverse side shows the coat of arms and a portrait of the theologian Thomas Muntzer. Its reverse side shows a wheat field and the coat of arms. Security features include a solid security thread, a thick six-digit serial number, and a watermark of Thomas Muntzer. Its dimensions are 113 mm by 50 mm.
