The Germany Federal Republic 1,000 Deutsche Mark Banknote was issued by the German Central Bank in 1993. On the obverse of this reddish-brown banknote are fairy tale collectors Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm. It also depicts buildings in Kassel and an outline of the letter A. The reverse displays the bank logo, a German dictionary, the definition of Freiheit (freedom), the Royal Library building in Berlin, and a girl catching stars in her dress from the fairy tale “Die Sterntaler”. The note comes with a windowed security thread with a demetallized 1000 DM and a watermark that reveals Wilhem and Jacob Grimm and 1000. The note is 178 x 83 mm in size and bears the signatures of Hans Tietmeyer and Johann Wilhelm Gaddum. This replacement note has been graded 66 by Paper Money Guaranty.
