The Germany 10 Deutsche Mark banknote from 1980 is part of the 1960 - 1980 series. Its obverse side features a portrait of a young man by artist Lucas Cranach, and German text. The reverse side features the German Navy "Gorch Fock" that was built in 1933 in honor of German writer Johann Kinau that died during the battle of Skagerrak in 1916. Alongside the tall ship are the bank logo and German text. The note measures 130 x 65 mm and contains a solid security thread and a young man watermark as part of its security features.
