The banknote's front design depicts a portrait of German mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, the Gaussian distribution curve, and the buildings in Goettingen. The reverse side depicts the bank logo, a heliotrope, and the triangulation network. The security features of the note include a Carl Friedrich Gauss watermark and numeric 10, and a windowed security thread with demetalized 10 DM.
