The Ghana 5 Cedis Banknote was issued by the Bank of Ghana in 2015. The obverse of the blue banknote depicts politicians and statesmen Kwame Nkrumah, Ebenezer Ako Adjei, Edward Akufo-Addo, Joseph Boakye Danquah, Emmanuel Odarkwei Obetsebi-Lamptey, and William Ofori Atta. Also on the obverse are the coat of arms of Ghana, a stack of nine gold bars, a star, and the Freedom and Justice arch in the Independence Square. The reverse of the note depicts the University of Ghana tower, the Department of Economics building, the Balme Library, a sculpture, and gold bars. The banknote contains a watermark that reveals Tetteh Quarshie, a cocoa pod, an electrotype 5, and Cornerstones. It also has a windowed security thread with a demetallized GHANA 5 and bears the signature of Dr. Henry Kofi Wampah. The note measures 141 x 68 mm and is in uncirculated condition. It has also been TAP authenticated with a grade of 60-70.
