The Great Britain England 1 Pound banknote, issued between 1940 and 1948 right around the second World War, as part of the Emergency Wartime issues. It has blue, brown, and pink color palettes and is 150 x 84 mm in size. The front side features Britannia, the female personification of Britain, seated, robed, and holding a spear. The back shows Saint George on horseback slaying a dragon, surrounded by a spread of acanthus leaf swirls. The 1-pound note was eventually brought back to its earlier green colors when the war was over.
