Part of the third modern drachma series, this 5000 drachma banknote is 163 mm long and 81 mm wide. This note has a paper money grade of 66. Its front side shows an image of Theodoros Kolokotronis, a Greek independence hero, and the Church of the Holy Apostles in Kalamata, where the Greek War of Independence was declared. Its backside shows a panoramic view of Karytaina. Its watermark is the Polyzalos of Delphi. The note was released in 1984 and was demonetized in 2012.
