This uncirculated 1 Guatemalan quetzal banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Bank of Guatemala. It is a green, orange, and red banknote that is dated 6 March 1991, bears the signatures of Fabian Bernardo Pira Arrivillaga, Jose Federico Linares Martinez, and Manuel Hiram Maza Castellanos, and measures 156 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side shows a flying quetzal bird, a stylized temple with glyphs, a Mayan bird, and a portrait of the president and general Jose Maria Orellana. Its reverse side depicts the Mayan man and glyphs from the jade Leyden plate, the circular Mayan carving, and a view of the Bank of Guatemala headquarters in Guatemala City. Though the note does not have a watermark, it has a solid security thread and a Mayan glyph registration device.
