Guatemala 1 Quetzal Banknote from 2006 with pick number P-109 is in uncirculated (UNC) condition. This polymer banknote features Jose Maria Orellana.


The Guatemala 1 Quetzal Banknote was issued by the Bank of Guatemala in 2006. It has a color combination of green, and orange, Its obverse features president Jose Maria Orellana, a stylized temple with glyphs, a flying quetzal bird, and a Mayan bird. The reverse depicts a standing Mayan man and glyphs from the jade Leyden plate and a circular Mayan carving. It also shows the Bank of Guatemala headquarters building in Guatemala City with trees. The banknote does not have a security thread and watermark but bears a Mayan glyph registration device. It is 156 x 67 mm in size and is printed on polymer. It also carries the signatures of Maria Antonieta del Cid de Bonilla and Carlos Rafael Garcia. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition.
