This Guatemala 100 Quetzal banknote from 2015 is part of the 2008 - 2017 series. Its obverse side features a portrait of bishop and university founder Francisco Marroquin, a flying quetzal bird, a flag, a Mayan man with staff as a registration device, and a seal in blue-to-green SPARK. The reverse side features the flower beds, fountain, and pillars in the courtyard of the University of San Carlos de Borromeo in Antigua, a circular seal, Mayan glyphs, a flag, and a Mayan man with a staff. The note measures 156 x 67 mm and contains a holographic windowed security thread, a Francisco Marroquin watermark, and electrotype 100 to enhance its security features.
