This 20 Guernsey pound note was introduced by the States of Guernsey in 1996. It is a red, blue, green, brown, orange, and yellow note that measures 149 mm x 80 mm and bears the signature of Bethan Haines. Its obverse side contains a Guernsey lily, a view of the St. James Concert Hall, olive branches flanking the seal of Bailiwick, a holographic device, and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Its reverse side shows Freesia flowers, a view of St. Sampson’s Church and St. Sampson’s Harbor, and Vale Castle. Security features include a solid security thread with printed GUERNSEY, a segmented security thread, a registration device of the SS Sarnia passenger vessel, and a watermark of Queen Elizabeth II. It is also a gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average centering. Thus, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
