Guinea Bissau 1,000 Pesos Banknote, 1993, P-13b, UNC

The brown 1,000 peso banknote from Guinea-Bissau is part of the first series of banknotes issued by the Central Bank of Guinea-Bissau. Its obverse side contains Portuguese text, a stylized depiction of a woman, a man weaving with a modern loom, and a portrait of Amilcar Lopes da Costa Cabral, one of Africas foremost anti-colonial leaders, wearing a sumbia (traditional skullcap). Its reverse side portrays the mural Apoteose Ao Triunfo (Apotheosis of Victory). The security features of the note include a solid security thread with printed BCG and a watermark of Cabral. The note is 149.5 mm long and 64 mm wide.
