This 20 Guyanese dollar note was introduced by the Bank of Guyana in 1988. It is a purple and brown note that measures 156 mm x 65 mm and bears the signatures of Bank Governor Patrick Elliot Matthews and Finance Minister Carl Barrington Greenidge. Its obverse side shows the bank logo and the Kaieteur Falls. Its reverse side portrays shipbuilding and the ferry vessel MV Malali. Though the note does not have a watermark, it has a solid security thread with printed GUYANA. It is also a gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average centering. Thus, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
