This uncirculated 50 Guyanese dollar banknote is a commemorative banknote issued by the Bank of Guyana in 2016 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of independence from the United Kingdom. It is a brown, tan, red, and green banknote that is dated 2016, bear the signatures of Bank Governor Dr. Bobind Ganga and Finance Minister Winston DaCosta Jordan, and measures 156 mm x 65 mm. Its obverse side features silhouettes of people standing in a line, the bank logo, the map of Guyana, and the 50th Independence Anniversary logo. Its reverse side shows the national flower giant waterlily (Victoria amazonica), a tree branch, the map on the flag, and doves in flight. Security features include a windowed security thread with a demetalized GUYANA 50, a radar serial number, and a watermark of a Red Macaw parrot head with an electrotype 50 and Cornerstones.
